Montessori Childcare in Coomera
Built for Focused Learning
Wattle Montessori is a 75-place early education centre in Coomera, offering authentic Montessori childcare for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.
We’re not a conventional daycare with a Montessori sign out front. We’re a purpose-built Montessori environment — calm, ordered, and designed to help children develop independence, concentration, and a genuine love of learning.

Family-Owned, Educator-Led
Wattle Montessori is operated by the team behind Young Adventurers Montessori in Worongary — a boutique Gold Coast centre with over a decade of experience delivering authentic Montessori education.
We’re not a corporate chain. We’re a family-owned centre where the people making decisions are the same people on the floor with your children. Our Director and Educational Leader know every child by name.
When we took over Wattle Montessori, we brought the same philosophy, the same standards, and the same commitment to genuine Montessori practice that built Young Adventurers’ reputation.
What Makes Montessori Childcare Different
In a Montessori classroom, children don’t wait for instructions. They choose meaningful work from a carefully prepared environment, move at their own pace, and develop real skills — not just compliance.
What you’ll notice at Wattle Montessori:
- The calm. No chaos, no yelling, no overwhelmed children. Our classrooms are peaceful because children are engaged.
- Mixed ages. Younger children learn from older peers. Older children build confidence by helping others. Just like a family.
- Real materials. Glass, wood, metal — not plastic. Children learn to handle real things with care and respect.
- Uninterrupted work time. Long blocks of focused activity, not constant transitions that break concentration.
- Independence. Children serve their own food, clean their own spaces, and solve their own problems — with guidance, not control.

Who We’re For
Wattle Montessori is a good fit for families who:
- Want their child to develop independence and self-regulation — not just be supervised
- Value calm, focused environments over high-stimulation “fun”
- Are looking for Montessori childcare in Coomera that’s actually Montessori — not just the name
- Want educators who know their child as an individual
We’re not the right fit for families looking for the cheapest option or a centre that prioritises entertainment over development. And that’s okay — we’d rather be honest upfront.

What Parents Say
Families who’ve joined Wattle Montessori consistently mention:
“I can’t believe how peaceful it is at drop-off and pick-up.”
“The staff know my child. They notice when something’s off.”
“She’s more independent, more focused, more confident.”
“I was unaware of Montessori before we found them and I love absolutely everything about it.”
Our Quality Journey
If you’ve researched Wattle Montessori, you may have noticed our ACECQA rating doesn’t match our Google reviews. There’s a reason for that — and we’d rather address it directly than hope you don’t notice.

What Is Montessori?
Montessori is an educational approach developed by Dr Maria Montessori, an Italian physician, over 100 years ago. It’s based on the observation that children learn best when they can choose meaningful activities in a prepared environment, move freely, and work at their own pace.
Montessori is used in thousands of schools and early childhood centres around the world — from birth through to high school. At Wattle Montessori, we focus on the first plane of development: birth to age six, when children have what Montessori called an “absorbent mind” — an extraordinary capacity to learn from their environment without conscious effort.
The core principles guiding our practice:
- Follow the child. Observe what interests each child and provide opportunities to explore it deeply.
- Prepared environment. Classrooms are carefully organised with beautiful, purposeful materials at the child’s level.
- Hands-on learning. Children learn through touch, movement, and real experience — not worksheets.
- Respect for the child. Children are capable. We trust them to make choices, take responsibility, and learn from mistakes.
