Why Wattle Montessori’s ACECQA Rating Isn’t Ours
The June 2021 ACECQA rating was issued to the previous owners of this centre. We acquired Wattle Montessori in August 2023— after that assessment had already taken place.
Here’s what many parents don’t realise: ACECQA ratings don’t automatically update when a centre changes hands. The rating stays attached to the service approval number, not the people running it. Until the regulatory authority schedules a new assessment, the old rating remains — regardless of how much the centre has transformed.
The Wattle Montessori ACECQA rating you see online reflects a point in time under completely different ownership and leadership. We haven’t been reassessed yet. When we are, we’re confident the rating will reflect the centre we’ve built.
Who We Are
Wattle Montessori is now operated by the team behind Young Adventurers Montessori in Worongary — a centre that achieved an Exceeding National Quality Standard rating and has been recognised for excellence in Montessori education on the Gold Coast since 2010.
We didn’t acquire Wattle Montessori to run it the same way. We brought the same philosophy, the same standards, and the same commitment to authentic Montessori practice that earned Young Adventurers its reputation.
What’s Changed Since We Took Over
Complete leadership restructure. New Director, new Educational Leader, new approach.
Educator culture transformation. We rebuilt the team around educators who understand Montessori isn’t just a label — it’s a method that requires calm, prepared environments, child-led learning, and genuine respect for each child’s developmental timeline.

Wattle Montessori ACECQA: Frequently Asked Questions
When will Wattle Montessori be reassessed?
ACECQA assessments are scheduled by the state regulatory authority. We don’t control the timing, but we’re ready whenever they arrive. Our Quality Improvement Plan is active, and we operate every day as though assessors could walk in tomorrow.
What rating do you expect to receive?
We’re working toward an Exceeding rating. Our sister centre, Young Adventurers Montessori, achieved Exceeding, and we’ve implemented the same standards and practices at Wattle.
Can I see your Quality Improvement Plan?
Yes. We’re happy to walk you through our QIP during a centre tour. It outlines our goals, what we’ve achieved, and what we’re continuing to improve.
Why should I trust Google reviews over an official rating?
You shouldn’t trust either one blindly. An ACECQA rating is a point-in-time assessment by trained assessors — valuable, but potentially outdated. Google reviews are ongoing feedback from current families — valuable, but potentially biased.
